Why did you run for this position? After having a go at mooting in my first year and getting to the quarter finals with my partner, I realised that I actually quite enjoyed it. I’d been to a couple of workshops about the bar where I’d discovered how important mooting is for a CV and, after some encouragement from mates and discussions with my predecessors, I went for it. Describe your role in the Law Society As Master of the Moots, my job is to organise mooting at Warwick. This involves the internal competition, a few external competitions and a couple of internationals. I work with Max to make sure, not only that mooting happens, but that it happens well. In other words, it is my job to ensure that everyone knows exactly what the score is when it comes to mooting at Warwick. I’ve had a competitive nature drilled in to me and there’s nothing I love more that making people proud and, at the same time, there’s nothing I hate more than letting people down. Best memory of last year: Freshers Week (whatever i can remember of it) Best piece of advice for freshers: Get involved in everything you can, you can always bail later if you don’t like it. Any final words? Moot! Come along to the workshops and demos and get involved. It looks great on your CV and you might even end up enjoying it.
