Why did you run for this position? Having been Editor of my School Magazine and a diligent member of the OD Sub-Committee in my second year, the role of OD Co-Executive was ideal, in terms of my traits, skills, and career development. I have a distinct passion for writing, and I am thoroughly looking forward to working with the OD team to create innovative and stimulating themes and topics for the new editions. I ultimately ran for this particular position on the Law Society Executive knowing that I can provide OD with creativity, professionalism and originality. Describe your role in the Law Society The role of the Co-Editor of OD centres on the design, publication and distribution of the Magazine itself, through 2 editions in the academic year. It also involves overseeing the work of an OD Sub-Committee, who have all been selected on application to contribute to the theme, layout and content of OD. The Co-Editors are also responsible for contacting designers, Law Firms and Chambers alike so as to provide a vast array of contributions, enhancing the Law Society’s Students career understanding and insight. The OD Editors also work closely alongside other Law Society Executive positions, who also provide accounts of their own achievements throughout the year to be published in the Magazine. Career aspirations Solicitor, experiencing a breadth of practice areas; Corporate, Environment, Family etc as a Trainee. Describe yourself in 5 words Approachable, confident, diligent, sociable & somewhat effervescent… What hobbies do you enjoy? In a nutshell, I love the gym, I love to shop, I love to drink Mojitos & Pinot Grigio, I love to dance and I love to travel. Also love going to the beach, hanging out with my friends, and just generally chillaxing. Favourite place to be: On a beach. Sunbathing. Reading Vogue. Favourite song: La Roux, Bulletproof (DJ Zinc Mix) Who / What inspires you? My friends & family, the body of support which they provide and the encouragement that I can, and always will, achieve what I set my mind to. Best memory of last year. Karen drunkenly walking into a Post Box…> Best piece of advice for freshers: Academic Advice - - work solidly throughout the year, and focus on Warwick’s Past Exam Papers when it comes to revision. Also, make sure you use the Careers Advice available, and attend the Law Firm Presentations set throughout the year. Social Advice - - Pre-Drink & get Queue Jumps Any final words?
