Warwick Law Society Mentoring Scheme

As Internal affairs officer, Chris Tanoh is responsible for providing the 'mentoring scheme'. This scheme pairs up a current student (the Mentor) with a new student (the Mentee).

The Mentor then acts as a source of support for the Mentee on a range of issues such as essays, exams, adjusting to life at university, module choices and personal issues.

UPDATE: Mentor / Mentee pairings announced

I am pleased to announce the beginning of the Mentoring Scheme this year, sponsored by Addleshaw Goddard.

PROCEDURE:

Stage 1:THE LIST: Please refer to 'the mentoring' list (using the links to the left) to find your Mentor/Mentee.

(If you have not been allocated a Mentee don't worry, we had twice the
mentor applications this year. You will be matched as and when more
Mentees sign up or during repairing).

Stage 2: GUIDELINES: As a Mentor or Mentee please read the relevant
guidelines issued by the Student's Union that I’ve adapted slightly.

Stage 3: CONTACT: Contact your Mentee/ Mentor and establish face to face, contact with them within the next 3 weeks. This is a compulsory
requirement to stay in the scheme. Regular contact must be maintained
throughout the year, this does not always have to be in person .Regular
e-mails will be sent out to remind you of this.

Stage 4:
1. REVIEW: Mentees will be sent feedback forms to fill in. The position of
every Mentor will be reviewed latest by Week 10 this term. Any Mentor who
has not had personal contact with their Mentee will be struck off the
list. Note that there are at least 2 people for every mentoring position
so take it seriously.

*MENTORS! If your Mentees are not using you- please complain, send me an e-mail. Mentees who do not make use of their Mentors will be struck off the list

STAGE 5: RE-PAIRINGS: Mentees and Mentors who have lost their partners will be re-paired with new partners.

STAGE 6: Successful pairings

NB: IF THERE ARE ANY IMMEDIATE PROBLEMS WITH YOUR PAIRING DO NOT HESITATE TO E-MAIL ME.

Addleshaw Goddard has shown dedication to the scheme for the 3rd year
running. It is expected that as a Mentor/Mentee you will do the same.
Ultimately, you’ll get out of it what you put in – socially, academically,
and in your careers.
